JSW Steel named as Sustainability Champion of 2023 by World Steel Association for fifth consecutive year

JSW Steel has been recognized as a Sustainability Champion by the World Steel Association for the fifth consecutive year, in 2023. In order to qualify for the award, companies must Commit, Measure, and Act in accordance with the Sustainability Development Charter, and submit a comprehensive performance report covering six key Worldsteel Sustainability Indicators. These include material efficiency, environmental management systems, lost time injury frequency rates, employee training, investment in new processes and products, and economic value distributed. Additionally, companies must provide Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) data to the Worldsteel Data Collection program, covering at least 60% of the company's crude steel production data that is less than five years old.

For JSW Steel, which regards sustainability as one of the pillars of its business operations, this recognition serves as a source of motivation to continue to deliver on this front. Winning this award is a proud moment for the company and highlights its commitment to implementing significant sustainable measures across all projects.
