JSW Steel to set up a manufacturing facility in J&K

The planned downstream manufacturing facility of capacity 120,000 tonne per annum will also house special lines to produce 'Steel Sandwich Panels' and 'Steel Doors'

On 25th October 2021 by offering the land allotment papers of a new colour coating line of JSW Steel in Srinagar, Hon'ble Home Minister Shri Amit Shah JI bolstered our aim to bring growth opportunities in Kashmir. We look forward to new beginnings by enabling development in the region.

This facility shall provide immense benefits to local businesses and society in a meaningful way and provide employment opportunities to the local youth. This is a humble contribution of the JSW Group, to spur the economic rejuvenation of Jammu and Kashmir.

We also believe this investment to be an example of commitment both from the Government of India and J&K that will bring about important and impactful socio-economic transformation in the region

The planned downstream manufacturing facility of capacity 120,000 tonne per annum will also house special lines to produce “Steel Sandwich Panels” and ‘Steel Doors” for the local market here in Jammu and Kashmir

The Union Minister for Home, Amit Shah also presented land allocation papers to Mr. Sajjan Jindal for the same.

The land allocated to JSW Steel is owned by the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) and is part of an industrial park in Kashmir. JSW Steel facility, however, is the first to be housed there.

To be set up in Lassipora, Pulvama, will be an addition to the already existing capacity of 27 million tonne.

This facility shall provide immense benefits to local businesses and society in a meaningful way and provide employment opportunities to the local youth
