At JSW Steel, we recognize that responsible air quality management is essential for human and environmental health. We are committed to reducing emissions across all our facilities through technology upgrades, process improvements, and transparent reporting.
We have implemented the best available technologies globally to control and minimize these emissions across all our operations

To reduce air emissions, we advanced a technology-driven programme to mitigate air emissions across our sites, deploying highly efficient, state-of-the-art pollution control equipment at major point sources such as sintering and high-temperature processes.

Controls and Process Improvements Initiatives

We execute specialized initiatives at our manufacturing hubs to maintain optimal air quality standards:

Focus Area Key Interventions
High-efficiency Capture Baghouses, ESPs, and scrubbers tailored for sinter and furnace off-gases to maximize particulate and acid gas removal.
Optimized Combustion Low-NOx burners and improved fuel mix management in high-temperature units to curb NOx formation.
Dust Suppression Water misting, chemical suppressants, and enclosure of transfer points to limit wind-blown dust.
Sintering Enhancements Bed permeability control, raw mix optimization, and waste gas recirculation to reduce PM and SOx. Implemented MEROS (Maximized Emissions Reduction Of Sintering) systems at our facilities to significantly lower our air emissions.
Real-time Control Systems Advanced automation to maintain optimal operating windows and minimize emission spikes.
