Projects & Construction – Building Infrastructure for Impact

When we speak of building a new India, the conversation always begins with infrastructure. From roads to airports and power plants to maritime ports, every new construction carries with it the key to prosperity. Contributing nearly 2% to the GDP, India’s infrastructure sector promises a better future for the 1.2 billion people it serves. So, it better be forged with the steel of only the highest calibre.

At JSW Steel, our new-age steel products and services have proudly helped construct critical infrastructural projects that will further bolster India’s standing in the world as a global superpower.

For years, we have sown the seeds of a greener future. Within the company, they have flowered in the form of an exhaustive environment policy ably supported by energy-compliant systems, processes and practices. Outside, they continue to build a better world every day in the form of environment-responsible initiatives.

Setting new benchmarks

Our world-class steel products have contributed greatly to the multifaceted infrastructural development of India. These include hot rolled, cold rolled, colour coated, galvanized, galvalume, TMT bars, wire rods, and special alloy steels.

Predominantly used in infrastructure applications, long products are an integral part of our portfolio. The high strength, ductility and shock resistant JSW NEOSTEEL TMT has been proudly deployed in the prestigious metro, railway, expressways, airport, port, atomic, aerospace, and defence projects. We also have one of the largest colour coated steel facility in India in order to tackle construction, warehousing, and roofing requirements.

We have also revolutionized steel slag application as a construction aggregate in roads and pavements, thus paving the way for sustainable disposal of the waste product.

Laying the foundations for a better India

As India further cements its status as a global superpower, creating assets of economic significance must be accelerated. Better connectivity and transport means, bolstered communication networks, ports for trade and SEZ creation, and accessible social infrastructure are the true means to empower every citizen in our country.

To play our part in this journey, we have ventured into nation-building collaborations. Today, many critical construction projects carry the legacy of our steel. These include:

  • Roads – Lucknow-Agra Expressway, Agra Expressway, Eastern Freeway (Mumbai)
  • Industries – Renault-Nissan Automotive India, Bharat Petroleum Kochi Refinery
  • Airports – IGI Airport, Delhi; Mumbai Airport – Terminal 2
  • Research & Development – Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, ISRO Propulsion Complex, Satish Dhawan Space Centre
  • Ports – Mundra Port & SEZ, Vishakhapatnam, Tuticorin
  • Power – NTPC Vallur Thermal Power Plant
  • Urban Transit – All major urban metros in India
  • Commercial and Sports – Wankhede Stadium, DLF Cyber City, Infosys (Bengaluru), Reliance TC 22 (Navi Mumbai)

Moreover, we are bringing to fruition the construction of Eastern and Western Dedicated Freight Corridors. With the government’s continued thrust on rural and urban infrastructure projects along with several effective policies in place, we have been able to take the ‘Make In India’ agenda forward.

Building better every day

Infrastructural growth truly has the power to transform the lives of our country’s people.

Better transport will bring us faster mobility. Better ports will facilitate trade and manufacturing. Better industries and SEZs can spark bigger opportunities. Above all, India will be able to meet UN’s Sustainability Development Goal 9 of building resilient infrastructure for sustainable growth. This is how the structures made using our steel will meet the demands of the future.
