JSW – The Steel Sustainable Champion of 2020

Honoured to be certified by World steel for
our commitment towards practising sustainability.

JSW Wins International Accolades

The World Steel Association has yet again, for the third consecutive year, recognised JSW Steel as a Sustainability Champion for its contribution in 2020.

To be able to make it to the winning list, a company has to Commit, Measure and Act in tandem with the Sustainability Development Charter. It has to produce a comprehensive performance report emphasizing 6 key Worldsteel Sustainability Indicators – material efficiency, environmental management system, lost time injury frequency rate, employee training, investment in new processes and products, and lastly, economic value distributed. Along with this report, Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) data has to be shared with the Worldsteel Data Collection programme, which covers more than 50% of the company’s crude steel production data and is less than 5 years old.

It is indeed a moment of pride for all of us at JSW Steel to be recognised as World Steel’s Sustainability Champion 2020. For a company like ours, where sustainability is one of the crucial pillars of our business operations, this certificate comes in as a catalyst of motivation for us to keep delivering.
